LP record deck to laptop?

  richardkms 14:07 13 Nov 06

In seeing all of the adverts recently for new LP decks that connect via usb to the pc, is there any software available which will allow my old record deck to connect through an amp to my laptop for recording?
It seems that it would be a shame to buy a new modern deck just for a one off recording job of my old albums.
Anyone any ideas?

I have just transrerred a lot of old cassette tapes to CD. I used this and found it really good even just connecting through the headphone socket.
