Low refresh warning

I have recently purchased a new Nec fe770 monitor and having messed around with the refresh rate I get a warning of 'Refresh Rate Lower Than Recommended' every time the screen becomes active. I have tried removing and reinstalling the vid card drivers, and setting the rate to the recommended by Nec but it only shows 75 or optimum
The card is an old S3 16 Meg ram. It was ok when I first used the monitor.

Did you monitor come with a disk?.

If not, go into Display Properties - Advanced, and change the Monitor type. If Your monitor isn't in the list choose an Acer 15P monitor.

Then you will find a whole list of refresh rates appear. 85Hz is probably a good one to try first.
