My wife has a number of Class lessons on Lotus Word Pro 97 on a separate very old PC which runs Windows 98. I would like to transfer those files to my PC There is no USB connection so I shall have to put them on a floppy disk and then transfer to my PC which runs Windows XP Home Addition and Microsoft Word 2002. I can transfer but when I attempt to open them they are eneryptic. I had no such problem with her Word documents. Can you please let me know in simple terms how to get over this.

Thank you very much

Go back to Lotus Word and resave the files as .rtf (Rich Text Format)

Then can then be read by any wordprocessor.

On the old PC, take a copy of the .lwp files (just in case), then resave them as "MS Word for Windows95 7.o (*.DOC)" files in Word Pro. Assuming the .lwp files aren't too complicated, they should then open okay in Word when you re-transfer them to your PC.
