Lotus Notes 5 - Archiving?

A pal of mine has to use Lotus Notes 5 (a sledge hammer and walnut springs to mind!) as a means of contacting his Principals overseas with e mail. He now has a wee problem with Lotus Notes working properly!

The Principal has said that it would be better if he archived a bundle of e mails thereby reducing the database size that is the e mails received/sent.

Is there an easy way of archiving in Lotus Notes? i.e, can the messages be dragged and dropped on the Archiving Icon? Say one for sent and one for received.

In an effort to help him I have scoured through a copy of "Sam's Teach Yourself Lotus Notes 4.6", but this gives absolutely nothing about archiving, just that there is an archive system in there somewhere!!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I must admit, I wondered if there would be any responses to this query. I don't know anybody who actually uses this programme. Never mind, it was worth a try!
Cheers
