I cant access my floppy disk drive in windows [xp] its not there, Drive
tested ok, cable tested ok, lights up ok when data cable in the wrong way
round. It wont boot from it either.

Any suggestion as to what might be wrong?

See if it appears there and if it has somehow been set as "Hide-Drive".

Go into Device manager and uninstall the floppy controller etc..

Reboot and it will say 'found new hardware'.

This should get it working again if it's the driver. If not, your drive could be faulty.

Its not in Disk management.

Uninstalled floppy controller, rebooted etc, but its still not there.

I have tested the floppy drive and cable on another pc is working ok, I have also tried another drive and cable.

I can only think its a motherboard problem. Is there a pci card that you can connect a floppy drive to?
