Lost wireless after reinstalling Windows

After reinstalling Windows XP on my laptop, I've lost the wireless connection. The wireless indicator light comes on when I switch the wireless switch to ON, but the Wireless Connection does not appear in the Control Panel/Network Connections box. I can still connect to the internet through an ethernet cable, but it's annoying to have lost the use of the wireless connection. Laptop is a Philips Freevents X50; network card is Intel Pro 2200BG wireless LAN. Any ideas what's gone wrong, or what I can do about it? (Audio has gone, too - possibly a related problem?)

It sounds as though you haven't reinstalled the drivers for the Wireless Network Adapter and Sound Card when Windows was reinstalled.

Have a look in Device Manager to see if there is a problem indicated - "question" or "exclamation" mark beside those items.
