Lost Symbols from Insert Drop Down

  Neet 14:27 25 Oct 03

I am not quite sure how I managed it, but I was creating some keyboard short cuts of Wingdings symbols and I seem to have REPLACED "Symbols" from the Insert drop town in the toolbar with one of these Wingding shortcuts. I also seem to have lost Field Forms from the drop down also.
Does anybody have any ideas how I can reinstate the Insert drop down to its original state? I tried re-starting the computer but that didn't help.

Are you talking about Word? What version?

Yes sorry, I am running Windows XP version 2002 and Word - Microsoft Office XP Pro. Can you help?

You can try re-setting the Menu to default settings:

On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.

With the Customize dialog box open, right-click the menu you want to restore, and then click Reset on the shortcut menu.

On the Customize dialog box, click Close.

If that doesn't work, try Detect and Repair from the Help menu.

Thanks, I'll give it a go and come back with the results.

Thanks VoG - your re-setting instructions did the job.
