we have no sound from our computer!
When we try to play a music track in winamp we get an error code 8878000A.
Do we need a sound card or can anyone help?
Cheers M+K

Did you have music previously and now lost it or didn't you have music at all? Does the PC make any sound at all?

Sounds like a corrupted directx sound driver you need to relod or update the directx drivers.

Try dxdiag. Click "Start" then "Run". Type dxdiag and click "Open". Check the report for direct sound. You may have to visit the Microsoft site to install Direct X. Try and install the same version of Direct X that you have now - the dxdiag report will tell you what you have installed now. I say this because I don't know if your system is compatible with the latest version.
This more than likely will be compatible.
