Lost Sound

I have XP pro. Using fire fox browser. I have lost the sound. I clicked on silver light to view an old email. Not sure what this is used for but I think the sound had gone before this.

I take it you mean that you've lost sound across your entire system?

If so then reinstalling the driver for the sound card will probably fix it. Do you know what sound card you have? If not, go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager, and look under the sound section to see if you can determine what sound chip you have.

Unless you are a PC Programmer or Application Developer, I would advise you to get rid of Silverlight - I can't imagine why you tried to use it to read an old email, surely your emails are within your email client, unless you have deleted old emails.

Sound - first thing to do is make sure all your audio connections are fitted correctly, that your speakers are turned on, and that your volume is not set too low.

Check your Audio/Sound settings in Control Panel.
