Lost photographs

I have an Iomega Peerless drive which contained around 700 photographs of my family's holiday in Florida USA.

I transferred them to my LaCie Big Disk drive ready to back them up to DVD.

But, sadly the LaCie Big Disk has gone wrong and I can't access my data (this is the second LaCie Big Disk to do this to me ... both the original and this warranty replacement drive, unlucky or what?).

Anyway, LaCie say that they don't recover data, only replace the drive, sorry.

This doesn't help me get my data back. "You're expected to back up" I'm told. Well, that's what I WAS doing when everything went wrong.

I have used 'Restorer 2000 professional' on my Peerless drive but, although it found all the folders, it just displays gobbledy gook for the pics themselves.

My LaCie drive has gone back for replacement ... any ideas anyone?

Thanks VoG, I'm downloading it now.

Thanks Alan227, I do have a spare maxtor drive (which I wish I'd used now) to back up to.

Here's hoping.

Any more ideas are welcome. I'll try any program to see if one is successful.
