Hears another dumbo trusting Windows update for Win98se comp and given me grief. I had a free program that someone recommended for recovering Partitions but it's gone with one of the partitions. Can anyone remind me, it did the job good but was not careful with the download and should have saved it to External drive. I have lost two partitions and got two left. But programs was loaded onto one of them. So if I can find the software that did it last time It will save all the reloading of programs ,Thank’s

Thank's all for the suggestions and have downloaded, But testdisk as done the job and all back to normal. After MS messed it up with there updates. Don’t know what’s worst a VIRUS or MS. It was a bit unnerving to use, but got there in the end. Would not recommend for a none savvy computer user though.

Thats good news woodchip. In some circumstances, it can be a lifesaver ( well data saver ). lol

Well as I said it got me there in the end. I did a search then saved and reset the partitions and all my info was there
