I have done some 'spring cleaning' on my computer, which caused the computer to crash and I lost about 50%. I took the precaution to create a Restore Point beforehand which has restored everything except all my saved e-mail messages. I have XP Home. Can anyone help?

Hmmmm - have you looked for .eml files, I think that is the usual email extension? under Find Lost Data.

other than that I am afraid I don't know what else to suggest.

If your e-mail client is Outlook Express you should be looking for .dbx files.

I already tried that and cannot find any dbx files.

If using XP try C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\CBEB-3901-0A83-4192-a62D......\Microsoft\Outlook Express.

The name of the folder between Identities and Microsoft may be different on your PC.

Folder is empty!

I always thought that Restore was supposed to restore everything. It did, except my saved e-mails.

Hi again, I think Restore only restores the System files, hence System Restore.
