lost left hand pane on windows explorerer

I have lost the left hand pane on my windows explorer therefor I am missing the folder tree. for the life of me I can't work out how to get it back, stupid or wot!!!! windows 98 SE, any ideas please, new brain is on order

Go to View - Explorer bar - Folders and tick it.

I have the same problem so I tried your solution but it doesn't work just shows a grey box with an X in the top RH corner.

As I read it, if on the right hand side window, there is a line called ExplorerBar then right click on it and choose Delete from the pop-up menu.
