I found a missing .Dll file on a website but the file size is approx. 3MB. Is this file size for real?? Is a DLL a driver or what? Why do they have this tendancy not to download from CD roms and when you have them, why are they subject to become "missing£? This has bothered me for a long time and I am very interested in knowing exactly what they do. Any links? Ideas? Also... Phew, When I download this file how do I know which program needs it and and and .... greatly appreciate any help from youze geniuses!

You haven't even told us which Dynamic Link Library file (DLL) it is was missing.

A quick search for large dll files revealed one of of over 4.5 Mbyts - wmp.dll - which is presumably something to do with Windows media player.

This will often bring up some information about it if it is a common file, or even not so common.
