lost emails

Hi all. That annoying box keeps popping up offering to compress outlook express files. So I did that and there was a power cut for a few minutes round here. When the power was restored and I restarted the computer a lot of emails had disappeared. The folders are there but the contents are missing. Question is are these stored somewhere on the computer? If so where? Can I get these back as some contain a lot of contact info for work. Thanks

Hopefully there's something in these links that'll work in restoring your missing emails: click here & click here. G

Thanks both but no luck. Following instructions I searched for .bak files and found hundreds but none were from OE. I tried all the methods in the links you sent with no luck. Therer were no files in the recycle bin either as was suggested. I suspect the powercut whilst compacting has destroyed the files. Thanks guys.

To be able to restore emails if it happens again in the future, download & install this MS Update click here. G
