I want to edit some of the programs that start up when I log on. I have,in the past run config.
Now it says cannot find. How can I get it back?

Try a search for msconfig.exe, if you can't find it run a system file check. Start/Run/type sfc /scannow (Watch the space) hit enter you will neeed your XP CD

If it is indeed missing from your PC you can click here to download a copy of mscongig.exe for XP and W2k. On my XP Pro PC it lives in C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries but if you place it in Windows\system32 then it should work ok.

If you save msconfig.exe in C:\Windows\System32 it will be found from Start, Run and no need for a shortcut.
