I have recently replaced the hard drive in a pc and now cannot find the CD Writer hardware.

The old PC had awriter (as identified on the cd slot).

I have looked at my computer/ hardware/ device manager and found the following 2 entries agaisnt the cd/dvd drives:

PIONER DVD-ROM DVDE-116
TEAC CD-W54E

I am assuming that the latter is the CR-W/RW and that this will work onceas befoire once I reload my Nero Buring software.

Is this a correct assumption or am I looking at the wrong thing/place?

Yes you are correct just reinstall Nero. It is normal for windows to describe a cd writer as just a cd rom.

I will give it a go and hopefully get back to you to say all is well
