my son in law has lost/forgotten his log in password to bt broadband. I have built him a new pc and wish to set it going. Does anyone know how to recover the password behind the asterists on the log in page? It seems to take forever to contact bt to get the info. Any advice would be appreciated.

click here says it doesn't always work in XP but I just tried it on my Outlook account and it worked. Or SIW click here and click on Secrets.

thanks for that VoG but the first one does not reveal the password and SIW crashes when I click on secrets.

bt bb should just set up by user name only

I agree with jolorna. BT broadband users do not need a password. Leave the space blank.

Sometimes the password is BT,(came across this last week)

I agree with jolorna,Mad Mick and Chaz10 BT BB normaly does not need a password but like Chaz10 has said at times "BT" would be needed as a password for instance my router insisted on using one so like Chas10 I discovered some time ago that using "BT" as a password did the trick.
PS hope this helps

If he has an email account with BT then he will need a password, the only time you dosnt need one is if you dont have an email account. At least this is what BT told me when i lost my password.
