lost all sound

I have installed a pinnacle rave tv card and after various efforts to get it to work i finally managed to get it to work , only to find that i have no sound,so i have removed the card from my system and the drivers for it but now i have no sound at all..... ie media player ,games ect

any ideas of what i have done

im running windows xp pro

Look in device manager, click sound,video & games.
See if anything is flagged. Right click & scan for hardware changes. Look at sounds & audio in control panel

i too have a problem. i am operating win 98. i sem 2 have lost all sound and i do not know why. whenever i try 2 play any audio or even click volume control i get a msg saying " no audio hardware found" can anybody help!!

Is your sound on motherboard or do you have a soundblaster card? It maybe disabled in bios.
Make sure all cards/cables are properly seated.
Reinstall sound card software.
