Loss of Ethernet Controller

I've recently endeavoured to instal a wireless network with a speedtouch router, to no avail.
The device manager shows that, both the Ethernet Controller and the SM Bus Controller are in yellow.
Does anyone know how to get them both back on line?

Right-click each of them in Device Manager, uninstall, reboot and Windows will reinstall them.

Thanks for info. but no good. Both with and without the XP Pro. disc, and on and off line, the result is the same; "Hardware could not be installed as windows could not find the software".
The Reaper.

If this is a self-build machine, you may need the motherboard drivers CD.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The machine is an HP so a visit to their site got me the details of the Motherboard i.e. ASUS, a visit to that site got me the necessary drivers and presto! All is working again.
