Loss of color to black and white playing WMPlayer?

Hi you guys,

I just noticed that the attached videos that I receive in my Email, that used to play fine using Windows Media Player Ver. 11, no longer have color and are black and white?

I have made no changes in any of the settings and my imbedded video chip is fine with other Videos online, like you tube, etc.

My computer is a Pentium 4 with 512 Ram, 64 MB video chip S3, and a 2.4 ghz CPU. My os is Win XP Home with SP2 and all updates, etc.

It was working fine a week ago, but presently plays *.mpg, *.wmf, wmv, etc in black and white when using the latest version 11 of Windows Media Player.

The Power Point Files run in perfect color, so I do not believe it is a hardware or Video chip problem?

Should I reinstall the same player from M$? Or can you recommend other ways to correct this software issue?

I do not believe it is a hardware problem as videos play in color with other players and on line as mentioned earlier.

Thanks again for any help you guys have always provided.
