Losing wireless connection

  Flopper 21:15 29 Sep 07

My wireless connection keeps dropping and it is beginning to pee me off!!
It is normally quite stable, with the laptop in the bedroom and the Netgear router in the loft.
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cables but it does not doo much good.
I can get on the internet but as soon as I start to upload or download or send/receive emails the connection drops.
Any suggestions.

May i ask why the router is in the loft?

You may!
A long story. My PC is in the loft attached to a wired router which I am using now. My two son's PCs are also attached to the wired router.
I bought a laptop intending to run it wirelessly but I bought the wrong wireless router. However, by attaching the wireless router to the wired router using an RJ45 cable the wireless network works OK, and has until recently had 3 laptops 'attached' to it.
It has worked perfectly for months and only just started to play up.

It seems to be working OK now.
