Losing folders in Outlook Express 6

I've been using OE for several years and have a fairly extensive folders system. Recently I've been losing access to a few folders, one at a time - they don't appear in the folders tree, but the original .dbx file is still on disk.

Just today, most messages within the Sent folder no longer appear in OE6 when I access that folder.

I've checked extensively for viruses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may work :-

Make a copy (in a different folder or media) of inbox.dbx, sent items.dbx and any other dbxs you want to preserve.

Delete the original ones and also delete folders.dbx. Open OE and new inbox and sent items will be created. Create your additional sub folders whilst in OE.

Close OE and copy + paste your saved ones to the newly created empty ones.
