LOOKUP PROBLEM

I am once again in need of help, although I am frustrated as i should know the answer to this:
I have a column c4 which i want to display a registration of a vehicle. instead of typing the whole reg I have created a lookup table of 1-20 in cells v6-v26 with the corresponding reg in cells w6-w26. I can't work out the formula that when I type eg 4 it inserts reg r575?
any ideas please.

Sorry, time is limited (have to go out).

You need to use VLOOKUP and set the 4th parameter to TRUE so that it looks for an approximate match.
The syntax would be =VLOOKUP(4, W6:W26, 1, TRUE)
