Long Boot Up Time

My computer takes an age to boot up.

Does anyone know of a way that I can monitor what is going on during the boot up, so that I can identify what is taking so long.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP1, with only one User so that it boots straight to my desktop.

Have a read:

You may have programs starting that you don't need.

Also, has this just started, or is it getting worse?

If this has "suddenly" started you need to look for unwanted applications launching at startup. Ad-aware click here would be a good place to start.

Otherwise try BootVis click here
