hi, this might be all in the mind, but, I have two PC's connected to a wireless adsl router, ok,so far?........when i go to the control panel of the router,..it often, like it is now, says that two PCs are connected, when in fact, as now, there is only one, last night it told me there were 3 connected, when there were 2...most of the time it gets it right, now for the question, about time i hear you cry...is it possible that someone nearby could have theirs linked into mine, or would they need the full login name and password to surf around from my router.....

It would still be possible for someone else to connect to the internet via your router and as most routers use a simple default username / password such as admin, to access its settings, it is possible for someone else to configure it.
I would suggest you set up the wireless security and change the password.
