I have win98 and have untill now had each member of the family log on to the computer. That way the internet security set our personal settings and the desk top was as we each liked it set out.. After many complaints about logging on and off I have now removed all users profiles from the machine and no longer want or need anybody or to log on.. Just switch on the machine and use it..however win98 still wants us to enter our MS network password.. how can I rid the machine of this anoying log in screen.

Cheers Lixdexik.

1. Right-click on the Network Neighborhood icon and select Properties
2. On the Configuration tab, select Windows Logon in the Primary Network Logon box

3. When Windows prompts you to restart your computer, click No

4. Click the Start button, point to Settings, then select Control Panel

5. Double-click the Passwords icon

6. On the Change Passwords tab, click the Change Windows Password button, click OK, then set a blank password
