log on probs - URGENT!

Hi! we have a bit of a problem. my brother uses Windows 2000 and has administrator privilidges on his home PC. the problem we are having is he has rebooted to clear the ram after playing unreal tournament, now back at log on it will not accept his password. we know the username and password are both correct (as shortly before re-boot he locked then unlocked the computer) but windows doesnt seem to be having any of it! ordinarily this would just be a pain, but (despite my best warnings) he kept no back ups of the years worth of A-level coursework due in in a matter of weeks time! so as you can imagine things are a little frantic. We have tried everything we can think of but we just cannot work out why we are unable to log in. please please, any advice would be VERY greatfully recieved.

Try logging in without entering anything, just leave blanks.

Windows 2000 admininstrator accounts are easy to bypass / reset.

Just search Google for 'bypass administrator (W2K OR 2000)'

many thanks all! the exclusion of a password seems to allow us access.
