Log Files

I am doing some re-vamp work on our website (in a hidden folder, prior to publishing) and, generally just upload the files I've worked on, so that my colleagues can view/test them remotely.

However, occassionally, I do a full 'new-site' upload, to make sure all is there (and synchronised? - don't know if that's right) but, it takes forever to upload all the log files.

Can this be avoided in any way?

In the file list (don't know the proper term but it looks like windows explorer), there is a folder called 'Logfiles'. Inside that are 2 further folders which have masses of files.

they take ages to upload to the web server.
