log on as administrator to install new updates

  buddharrington 12:38 17 Dec 06

I have recently tried to install windows media player 11, however when this is done it ask's me to turn off and restart computer for the instalation to work properly, to which i did.
Now when my computer has finished start up i tried to load windows media player 11 and it says "please log on as an administrator or part of the administrators group and try again"
I dont know how to do this, but am wondering if it is because my girlfriend and i have our own log in screens (user accounts) i have tried to load it on her desktop but it gives me the same message, i dont understand this as all other installations or updates work fine whoever is log on and completes them.
Please help,
many thanks

Sign yourself in as administrator,Start Control panel,User acconts,Click on you own one,Change my account type. And press dot to be administrator,A while since I have done this, So if it will not work on your account ,Go into girlfriends account, And try and change your account from there.
