How do I load XP on MSI KT6 Detla FISR Mo'b with one SATA drive connected to SATA1. My intension is to have one Sata drive only, using IDE 1 for DVD, CD writers etc.
The SATA drive shows on start up as channel 0
but I can not access it.

When you are installing WinXP from cdrom press F6 when it asks at bottom of screen/ it will ask for floppy with sata drivers on after it has installed other files.

I do not get that far, On trying to run the XP cd I get a message saying " PXE-E61 Media test fail"
Then "Insert boot diskette in A:" I put a boot disk in and that brings me to the A prompt, where do I go to from there?

Try the bios setting change mentioned.

Have done that, no good, the screen appears to go between blue and black during the attempts.
Any other ideas?

Disable your nic in the bios.
Does your motherboard support 1 sata drive or is it for raid sata only?

You could post this on the MSI forum may get better response there

Not sure if the board has support, have posted on MSI site, and sent technical an email.
Thanks for your help.
