Loading software into a netbook

A friend has a netbook into which he needs to load some software held on a CD but the netbook doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, he doesn't have access to a portable USB CD/DVD drive and copying the CD to a pendrive doesn't work either. So what can he do?

Do what I did and buy a DVD/CD player - they're not expensive click here

Can he network to a machine that does have a DVD drive?

Thanks both. I'll pass on your advice

Copy the contents of the CD across to a USB stick, then run the install file from the stick. I just did this to install Office on my netbook.

Otherwise set the DVD drive on a desktop to shared and you should be able to access it across the network.
