Error message showing C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Does this mean I'm unable to use this printer on XP.
Any help much appreciated NICK H

I found I had to download the lastest drivers from Lexmark in the United States when I had the same error message when I tried to install my X85 - uninstall whatever driver you have on your system, then download and install the lastest drivers from lexmark - cured my problem!

Looks like Derek R has your answer, however try also this.
Delete the curremt printer [Start/Printers/faxes]
delete.
Let Windoze tell you you have new hardware.
Use select from list, instead of CD for software.
Rundown the list of Lexmark printers that Windoze has in its library.
select your model or one that is nearest.
