Loading drivers for internal modems.

I have recently re-installed Win XP Pro.
However my internal modem is not being detected on the control panel. I have tried inserting the CD that came with the modem but this does not work.
I went onto the website for the modem (Conexuant?), downloaded a program to list the model inside, and am now about to load a generic driver. However, I have a choice of 2 drivers- one is a PCI, the other a USB. Which one should I use?

you should use the driver labled pci as it is an internal modem you R using

Control Panel lists it as Phone and Modem Options.

Conxenant is not a modem manufacturer, it produces the chipsets (and also now owns Rockwell) that modem manufacturers used in their products.

If you go to click here and list your modem make and/or chipset, you should be able to find the correct driver/.inf file.
