Loaded new driver - why has display changed ?

As the title says I was having major problems with my ATI Radeon 9800 graphics card with lines all over the screen etc - swapped it for a straight replacement and problem fixed - BUT the font is now massive and half my favourites have gone which is a real pain - why has everything changed and does anyone know can I restore it back?

Also when first loading up the new card it complained about the drivers even though its an identical card - does anyone have the link to download the ATI 9800 drivers ?

Many Thanks for any help - very much appreciated

Rather than swap and change unnecessarily, read this excellent guide to installing ATi graphics cards (there's also one for nVidia) at:

Particularly note the Drive Cleaner Pro advice (freeware).

Personal preference is to just download the basic ATi display driver at:

and use it with ATi Tray Tools rather than the bloated Catalyst software. See:

Thks for that (quick or what) but its telling me drivers for the 9800 series is now legacy software - how do I just select the driver for it ?

The 9.2 (might be 9.3) is the final display driver version for legacy ATi cards.

Nothing to worry about as it will be more than adequate.

See:

for 9.2 version.
