Livebox Wireless

I'm trying to help someone via e-mail,who is trying
to connect using a Livebox wireless router.
She's in a house with two others, who have recently
connected with no problems to orange broadband with the above router.
She says her laptop simply won't connect, It says its connected to the internet, but then won't install the Orange software required to access the internet. Every time she tries to do so, it won't, and tells her the possible cause is due to having a firewall turned on which she hasn't, She's disabled all the antivirus software, and the windows firewall, and tried every way possible to connect to the internet. The light on the laptop that indicates wireless is working is lit up, and has done every possible thing suggested by Orange on their website.
Any help would be appreciated as I'm not familiar with this particular router.
She's using xp home, and has a fairly recent laptop with a wireless connection.

Presume your friend has followed the instructions in the "Wireless set-up guide" which comes with the Livebox, partic about putting the Livebox in "pairing mode" and then entering the WEP key, it's sensitive to differentiating between upper and lower case letters.

Thanks for your reply,I suggested numerous things to try,and nothing seemed to work, then all of a sudden it told her it was connected, and the disk installed.
She does not know how or why but all is now working as it should.
