Linux Help (install NFS services)

  BBez 21:21 25 May 04

just installed Mandrake 8.1 but forgot to configure the system with Server services so can't get NFS daemons running.

When logged in as SuperUser at the [root @ 192 root]# prompt i attempt to get the service running so i can export my file system to other machines using the " /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs start" command, all i get is "file not found".

Been at this for a few hours now so any help from Linux guru's would be well appreciated, thanks in advance...

If you didnt install NFS then it wouldnt be found.

You need to look into installers section, this will allow installation of extra items such as NFS.

It should be in your DrakX control panel.

Glad I could be of assistance,

Mandrake 8.1 is going back sometime for me now. ;-)

I am currently running V10 and RedHat 9 - as a server environment.
