Can any one tell me a good free linux packages and any good websites that explain the in's and outs and the how to's of linux.

You have two choices really:-

1) visit your local newsagents and pick up one of the p/c magazines that includes a Linux distribution

2) got to a p c World and buy Suse Linux (about £30) - as well as the installations dics the box will include excelleant set and on-going user mnuals

1)click here 2) click here 3)click here(buy cds from 1.50 inc P+P),buy direct from the linux makers ie mandrake,knoppix,suse ect,don't go to pcworld to pick up a CD for £30(there just making money out of someone elses work!),or download them using bit-torrent or direct from the servers,hope this helps?.ben
