Linksys wireless g notebook adaptor ???

Hi all this is my first question and as a computer beginer i ask you go easy on me !!
I purchased an Advent laptop with Wireless lan and brought a Linksys WAG54GS Wireless ADSL G gateway with speedbooster at the same time, Ordered BT Broadband and waited the week to get connected.. BUT meantime i forgot (Wait for it) the my nice new laptop was wireless enabled and purchased a Wireless G Notebook adaptor WPC54GS-UK with speedboster.
Last night i spent some good hours trying to get connected to no avail until i remembered, Removed the adaptor and connected ok and is working ok.
Now the question... Would it be advisable to get the Linksys notebook adaptor working as my wireless connection to the Gateway or leave as it is ??

As long as you can secure the wireless network (Which should be no problem) then leave alone what is working.

It's a shame that you purchased without care, but it would be utterly pointless to use the external adapter.
