Two Pcs in same room (10ftapart) One with XP Proffesional and the other with Windows 98SE.
Can I link the two Pcs easily and if so how?
Will the differnt Operating Systems affect File transfers?

Get two network cards (NICs) and a network crossover cable - in total less than ?30 and it will be easy.

If the XP is using the NTFS file system, the Windows 98 which uses FAT 32 will see the files OK on through the network but will not be able to use them on it's local drive once transferred. Ideally, both computers should be using FAT 32 to be fully compatible.

Right click the drives and select Properties to see what file system is in use in each case.
