lines across monitor

I have just purchased a new mitsubishi 93sb 19 inch monitor. However there are two grey/black lines one at the top and one at the bottom that are permanently running across the screen.

I am told that this may be normal. But would like further confirmation.

Yes, that is how it should be, they are tension wires for the type of display you have. J.

Yes it's normal. My 19 inch CTX PR960F is the same.

I have a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 73 17" monitor. When I first bought it, I also noticed that there is a grey horizontal line. I quickly phoned Evesham only to be told yes Sir, that is correct and if you look very closely there is a second line! He informed me that they should be there!
