Limited or no connectivity .. help please

I have a new cheapo laptop for which I have bought a Linksys wireless adaptor (Home Wireless-G USB adaptor). I can't persuade it to connect to the BT Voyager 2110 router, as the router won't give it an IP address.

I've also just installed Norton, so that could be blocking something, but I can't find where.

We have 2 other laptops with built in Wi-Fi which connect quite happily.

Tne linksys adaptor is seeing the Voyager 2110 beautifully, but then something goes wrong. I did wonder whether the password is getting corrupted or something ....

I'd welcome any other ideas ...

If I ethernet hardwire it will that work any better?

Yea, you should try that first by ethernet and then you can identify if it's a wireless problem only or not.
