Limited Connectivity help

I have an HP laptop, and Netgear wireless router. I've been able to connect to the internet with no problem for a week, but after connecting the laptop to my desktop via ethernet to transfer a few file, I can't connect. It seems to connect to the router, but gives me limited connectivity and will not connect to the internet. Theres a second laptop in the home which can connect just fine, do i dont think its the router. the only thing my comp is telling me at all is it cannot communicate with primary DNS.

ok, nevermind. after a while of comparing the settings side by side i noticed the TCP and IPv settings had somehow gotten off of obtain automatically and to the manual entry, even though i had never gone in there during the whole process. thanks anyway.
