Limited access on wireless

I have a new laptop running windows 7 and cannot get it to connect to my existing wireless network.

Network is happily running internet on a desktop computer and PS3 but although the laptop can find the network it is shown as unidentified network with limited access.

When i run the diagnostic thing it tells me that the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration and that the is a problem with wireless adapter or access point.

All of which makes no sense to me. Can anyone help?

try going to network and sharing center and click on connect to a network and fill in the name of your network when prompted

if no good still right click your network adapter and click properties and then click on internet protacol version 4 and then properties and make sure obtain ip address automatically is selected.
