While trying to carry out a repair of xp the wrong option was selected and it loaded xp.
The result is that xp is available but all the 3rd party programs are sat on the hard drive and cannot be coaxed to run via windows or anything else.
Is it possible to "transfer" these programs back to run under windows as they did before or is it a full reformat and reload windows and all the "lot" again as being the "best" option?

tks

The reason is because there are no registry entries now for the programs. I think your best option is going to be to uninstall the programs and then re-install.

Don't forget to backup any data files you have made with the programs such as word docs etc.

Try an XP Repair again, but this time done successfully..:-)

If you find the .exe file in the Program, double click it to run. You can right click it and drag a Icon to Desktop so you do not have to look for it each time
