Is this legal?

I am building a personal website which has a page for my favorate music which has been downloaded from iTunes. I want my visitors (family and friends only) to be able to listen to the music. Can I do this or is it a copyright issue.

and yes, it's a copyright issue.

By placing the files on a website for others to listen to you are publishing and/or distributing them, and both are illegal.

Thanks for the advise. I will not be having a music page in that case :-(

What if they could only listen and not download. Surley this would be just like them coming around to my house to listen to a cd?

In technical terms you would be broadcasting the music, and you aren't allowed to do that without a copyright licence. iTunes haven't sold you such a licence, and nor will they - you must not distribute or broadcast the music in any way.
