Launchlist & Messenger trying to autorun

I have two programs constantly trying to add themselves to my startup (so Winpatrol keeps telling me). They are:

C:\Program Files\Pinnacle Studio 9\LaunchList.exe

and

C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe /background

Now both are from software I want to keep and use, but I don't want them running all the time. The launchlist one just opens a folder and doesn't seem to do anything else.

I know Messenger is a pig to remove, but I don't want to remove it, simply have it running when I need it and not at startup.

Can any please help as this is driving me loopy!!

Thanks

With messenger click on tools--options--general and untick " automatically run messenger when I log on to windows". Click apply.

Remove the apps from the startup.

Start/run and type MSCONFIG and select startup.
Now untick everything except your Antivirus and Firewall, also leave any realtime antispware program ticked and ok and reboot.
This should remove them from your startup list.

Now if you dont Let WinPatrol Run them,You might not be able to turn on W/messenger or your other program.I think that is how it works,But may have it wrong.

Gave up in the end. Let Messenger run and uninstalled Pinnacle.

Chalk this one up as a defeat.

Thx for your help though.
