Hi all, I have a very good anti spam program, Spamweed, which currently starts at start up. I obviously only need it to run when I am downloading my emails. Does anybody know of a way to launch Spamweed and then my email client, Thunderbird, with the same shortcut?

What you need is a batch file click here

use notepad to edit a text file and save it in your desktop with .bat extension, for examle
give the file name "xyz.bat" when you save file, so not forget ""

in this file, you have something like

start C:\WINNT\NOTEPAD.EXE

cls

start C:\Programs\Firefox\firefox.exe

cls

NOTE: for this bactch file to work, all directory names involved should not have space. for example the following command will not work

start c:\program files\firefox/firefox.exe

The file path to my email client is

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe

So I guess I cannot create a batch file as I get an error message with or without the spaces when I try to run the batch file.

Ok all I,ve got it sorted now and it works beautifully

The batch file is as follows

@ECHO Off
start "" "C:\Program Files\SpamWeed\swengine.exe"
Start "" "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"

Obviously each "start" command is on a new line.

I have downloaded Spamweed, but find that it alters the incoming conection as well as my account name on OE, so resulting in not being able to receive mail although I can still send mail. I have also recently downloaded ZoneAlarms firewall.

How can I get Spamweed to filter incoming mail without altering OE setting?
