Laser printer HP1505 Roller marks

I use a mono HP1505 laser printer. It works well apart from the fact that every page has vertical impressions from top to bottom - almost like embossing. It is as if two rollers are pressing on the page too heavily - you can actually feel the grooves on the paper with your finger! I have used the settings and paper recommended by HP but the result is just the same. HP do not seem at all interested in the problem. Most of the printing is concerned with business and the impressiions on the page do nothing to promote the image of the business.

Has anyone any suggestions how to solve the problem or has had a similar experience with this printer or the previous 1005 model.

With thanbks for any replies.
