hello everyone,

Going to buy a new internal HDD(IDE). Could someone advise me what would be the largest one that win XP sp2 would take?

further, I do like value for money so, any recomendations as who to buy from?

400gb is the largest, and will work just fine with XP.

It's not Win XP that decides the maximum size hard disk. It is your motherboard and BIOS.

Some only allow a max of 40gb, some 137gb etc.

We would need to know what your motherboard and BIOS is.

Or you could look in your motherboard manual which would give you an idea of maximum size hard drive.
